Tell us about yourself, age, where your from, what your doing.
Well my name is Ibrahim Wadhai, I'm 15 , I'm from Iraq, I'm recently studying in school.
Did you used to live in Iraq? Ever skate there?
Ive never been there. I've lived here almost all my life. I used to live in Canada when i was 2 or 3.
How long have you been skating? And how did you get into it?
I started skating somewhere around 2002, I used to always see people from my school just skating outside, and I thought it was pretty cool.
How do you balance skating with school?
Well I try to get school work out of my way as soon as possible then just skate afterwards.
Not enough people have realized, you are on some other kind of level with your skating. What kind of skating are you into anyway? What gets you hyped?
I`m into skating everything thats fun, skating with friends just gets me hyped.
What videos are you watching that no one else is?
Umm I watch mostly everything, most of Daewon Songs videos. I tend to watch them over and over again just to understand (laughs).
Do you perform any rituals before skating?
Not really, I just go out and skate.
Where do you like to skate at?
Well, Corniche, it has alot off different spots all around so its realy fun.
Its too bad theres no switch stance photos of you. How did you get into skating switch so comfortably?
I just started messing around skating switch, and then found it intresting to learn everything agian, and it's working out great!
Is there anything that could be different or better about skateboarding in the UAE?
Well a skateshop in Abu Dhabi would be great, skateboarding is just evolving in the UAE witch is great, they are starting to build skateparks everywhere that gives us a place to hang out after getting kicked out of skate spots.
Rage is going to be opening up soon in Abu Dhabi, what do you think about that?
I think its going to be awesome, that way we wouldnt have to drive all the way to dubai to get skate stuff.
Where do you see skating out here 5-10 years form now?
Well alot of new skaters, and alot off skate spots just constantly being built.
Where are all the girl skaters?
They are probably out skating.
What do you have coming up? Anyone to thank?
Exams coming up. I would like to thank god first, my parents, every one i skate with, and a big thanks to rage for providing us with skate shops, organizing skate competitions, without them who knows where skateboarding out here would be.
